Why It's Important to Travel Every Chance You Get
I've been traveling for as long as I can remember. I took my first international trip when I was 13, and we went to Germany and did an epic road trip (sense a trend with the road trips?). My golden birthday happened when I was 13, so my big present was to ask my mom if I could tag along on her Germany trip. I have always been fascinated with WW2, and getting to go to Germany to see where it had all originated was an exciting endeavor. The first time I traveled outside the country (I'm not counting Mexico and Canada), it definitely was not the best experience at the time. As I grew up, I came to appreciate that trip for what it was. I think traveling is something you get better at as you figure out what you like and don't like. As you travel more, you may find that you like a relaxed schedule or you like to fit a ton of stuff into one day. Everyone has their own preferences, it's just a matter of finding what works the best for you.
I have been incredibly fortunate to have traveled as much as I have. I've been to much of Europe, Central America, and some of Asia. I also have done a lot of travel within the United States (I only have 5 more states and I've seen them all!). I love what international travel has to offer, but I have also thoroughly enjoyed the domestic trips I've taken as well.
I think it's important to travel as much as you can while you're young. Think about it, you'll never have as much free time or vacation, until you retire. Once you retire, you'll probably have grandkids, and other obligations. Travel may or may not be a top priority.
And hey, if you have no desire to travel, that's okay too! I'm speaking from my own perspective. Travel has opened my eyes to different cultures, FOOD, and incredible sights. I have loved every second of it, and I hope to continue to travel throughout my lifetime! I'm always looking for my next adventure, and I hope to always have this hunger to explore new places and try new things!
