San Fran

I visited San Francisco for the first time last May. My best friend Anna and I were going there as kind of a graduation present/fun trip! I'm so thankful that my parents paid for our hotel stay (the hotel rates are completely outrageous!). We stayed in this cute little hotel right in the heart of the city! I absolutely love San Fran! I love how it is small enough that you can take an Uber across town (for a reasonable price) but has so much packed into every little street.

And the streets are insane. Kudos to those people that drive/walk everywhere. I cannot imagine driving a car in San Fran.... I would be that person that would come back to their car and find that it has rolled down the hill. Probably something out of Princess Diaries. Also... I love to walk but like the streets in SF!! Holy Crap. It's incredible they created a city on these hills. It's nuts, but gorgeous. I've never seen anything like it.

We were in SF for 5 full days. We pretty much saw the entire city! I loved how our days were full but not too full. We were able to see everything that we wanted, and did not feel completely drained at the end of the day. If you're ever in SF, be sure to go to Alcatraz! Totally worth it, and the audio tour is incredible! Although, I'm not sure I would want to go to the night tours of the former prison (proceed at your own risk!).

We made it to Pier 39, and Fisherman's Wharf. The FOOD. Oh my god.... the FOOD was AMAZING. I could literally eat clam chowder in a Boudin bread bowl and be content for the rest of my life. UGH I wish I had some right now. We also made it to Chinatown to eat some dumplings! Just thinking about the food makes me hungry right now. I would live in SF just for the food. Ghirardelli Square is another one you want to check out. One of the pictures below is their signature hot fudge sundae. Best $12 hot fudge sundae I've had in my life, and I'm not even a huge sundae fan.

We got some exercise in while we were in SF. We did a 22 or 23 mile bike ride around the entire bay... sooooo far. It was definitely worth it! But my legs hurt afterwards! Getting to bike over the Golden Gate Bridge was incredible! It was windy and freezing though! Totally worth it! I have since taken a longggg break from riding any type of bike! Although, 10/10 recommend taking a bike and riding it around the Golden Gate Bridge! We also got some sweet pictures in front of Lombard Street (it's a must). Why do they design streets like that? No clue. At least it looks cool!

I would totally go back and visit SF! I would highly recommend it! Be sure to book a semi-nice hotel though, because there are sketchy areas in town! But overall, you won't be disappointed if you decide to head on over to the Bay.
